Hall has published three books of poetry. Her latest, Three Trios, a book of her translation of the imaginary poet J II, is forthcoming in November from Northwestern University Press. Her poems have appeared in such magazines as the New Republic, the Paris Review, the Yale Review, and the Best American Poetry anthology series. Her Guggenheim Fellowship will be utilized to support the composition of a fifth book of poetry and to pursue her writing of essays for a first collection. In addition to the Guggenheim award, Hall has received various honors for her writing including the 2003 Pushcart Prize for poetry and an individual fellowship in poetry from the National Endowment for the Arts in Washington, DC.
Hall serves as poetry editor for the Antioch Review and has participated as a panelist in innumerable educational forums on poetry. She has also served as a judge for the Los Angeles Times Book Award in Poetry. Hall holds a master's degree in fine arts from Johns Hopkins University, and currently resides in Malibu.
Guggenheim Fellowships are awarded on the basis of distinguished achievement in the past and exceptional promise for future accomplishment. The Guggenheim awards are granted in diverse subjects, from the natural sciences to the creative arts. Past Guggenheim fellows include Nobel laureates, Pulitzer Prize winners, and such notables as Ansel Adams, Langston Hughes, Henry Kissinger, and Linus Pauling. ###
